LEGO Orchid 10311 or Mini Orchid 10343?

Choose 10343 for a more compact display; consider 10311 when you want a larger arrangement and have measured its space.
They are different display projects
These are two different sets, not two sizes of the same retail package. LEGO lists Orchid 10311 with 608 pieces and a completed display over 39 cm tall, 30 cm wide and 24 cm deep. Mini Orchid 10343 has 274 pieces and stands over 25 cm tall. Both are marketed for adults.
Those specifications support a size comparison, not a build-quality ranking. We have not built either set. The larger piece count does not establish twice the enjoyment, twice the difficulty or a particular number of hours at the table.
Measure the place where it will live
For 10311, mark out the stated width and depth on your shelf with paper, then leave clearance above it. Check the plant's position next to a screen, a cupboard door and anything you move regularly. A display that technically fits can still be inconvenient if it must be moved every day.
For 10343, the shorter height makes it a candidate for a smaller display area, but height alone does not guarantee a fit. Check the complete dimensions and intended arrangement on the current product page. For a gift, ask about the recipient's shelf space instead of choosing solely from the box artwork.

Once you pick a set, compare that same number across retailers. A listing for 10343 is not a discount on 10311. Check whether the item is new and sealed, whether all bags and instructions are included, and whether shipping may damage a gift box.
Treat price per piece as a secondary check
Price per piece can help explain why two boxes have different prices, but it misses the display result, specialized elements and your taste. A larger unwanted display is not better value because its ratio is lower. For a present, delivery timing and the return process may matter more.
